I agree completely. Personally, if codex were random, I would certainly play it. I think the concept of a sealed deck is more oriented toward casual players looking to have fun rather than to hard core players who would rather stick with their meta builds. If codex were turned into a random style arena, I definitely think it would become revived.

I have doubts about the way it could be implemented. An easier solution that came to mind might be an optionnal objective to zaishen quests: have an option to only use skills from the campaign and core skills. This would probably be easier to manage.

I am thinking about another option beside NM/HM that would ban non-campaign skill (or possibly other skills). Only usuable around ZQ areas. There is the problem of specialist campaign being denied their whole class, but they could keep their original campaign's skills.

The bonus to the quest would also give an incentive to use it. If it is sall but present, I guess some teams would use it for the challenge and I think the campaign skills should be balanced (aka not leave a proffesino useless) since the games were originally made to be playable independantly.

I am not sure if this would be worth the design time or really that fun.
And I'll /notsign for the OP's idea as I'm not sure it would be well implemented.
Untill someone come up with a concept we could judge...

Random Codex would be horrible there would be no variety whatsoever, and I'm sure people would play in RA instead. If you want a fun arena you have to make one where the goal isn't necessarily killing but more objective based. Like CMs but not glitched.

Everyone has their own opinions about what is fun. You may think its horrible but i think that randomizing codex would be fun and would attract the casual games back to it.

Personally I think this would've been a better idea for hard mode than just buffing the hell out of mobs. It would force groups to work together instead of just grabbing pve skills and cons and blowing everything up.

However, I'm not sure that this would appeal to many pvers and the amount of time needed to do this is probably out of the question, given the krewe's size.

This is my concern with it as well. It might be fun the first few times that a person tries it out, but I think most players would rather waltz around PvE carrying their OP skills and bars of their own creation and no limits.

If you want your own challenge, go take gift3d's link and knock yourself out.
